About Me

Well, hello there. I’m Nicola.

If you’re here you probably know me already, but here’s a quick rundown anyway: Italian sysops by trade, professional time waster by night. I started my career as a C#/JS developer, did that for a few years and switched to systems administration – mainly Windows – after that.

In October 2020 I started working at my current employer with a full time DevOps position, and since then I’ve been swimming in the high waters of Infrastructure as Code and all that kind of stuff.

When not at work I usually throw myself at the most inefficient ways to waste time. I’m into photography, music, gaming, books and TV, and somewhat into electronics, comics and music making. Obviously coding in my free time as well, as much as I’d like not to.

I also have a pretty expensive passion for analog writing and analog writing tools. I started going down the fountain pen road in 2018/2019 and the pandemic only added fuel to the fire, and I now pretty much exclusively write on paper with a fountain pen, the exception being this site, my (very few) digital notes and obviously work stuff.

This blog has been through many iterations, but returning to WordPress seems like the best choice for finally posting stuff without friction, so maybe it will stick? Who knows. See you around?

You can find my projects on Github and me on Trakt, Letterboxd and Last.fm. I also technically have a Twitter profile at @nicolapcweek94 but I honestly can’t recall when’s the last time I retweeted anything, much less posted anything I wrote myself.

Or, you can drop me a few lines at wasp [at] wasp [dot] dev and be sure I’ll reply.
